Claudio

Head Trainer

I have been a personal trainer since 2012, with a degree in sports science and a genuine passion for training, health, and helping people get the very best out of themselves.

What I enjoy most about being a PT is seeing people achieve goals they once thought were out of reach. Whether that’s getting stronger, improving fitness, losing body fat or simply feeling healthier and more confident, there’s nothing better than seeing the hard work pay off.

Fitness has always and continues to be a huge part of my own life. For me, fitness goes far beyond how you look or what you can lift. Everyone has different goals, abilities and lifestyles, so I believe great personal training should always be built around the individual.

My approach to training is simple: work hard, enjoy what you’re doing and make your training something you can sustain.

I have been practicing yoga for almost 30 years and has been teaching for almost half of that time. Originally drawn to dynamic Vinyasa and Ashtanga-based practices, I have found that yoga helped to develop strength, balance and resilience in both body and mind.

I completed the 200-hour Yoga Alliance-certified teacher training in 2012, followed by a 500-hour Yoga Alliance UK certification in 2016, both under Stewart Gilchrist.

My restorative classes draw on Yin and restorative yoga practices and are open to all levels, with no previous experience required. With the support of plenty of props, we practice mostly seated and reclined postures alongside breath awareness to cultivate calm and stillness in both body and mind. Walk away feeling relaxed, grounded and ready for a good night’s sleep.

Driven by the belief that fitness builds both body and confidence, I help clients get stronger, leaner, and move better. My coaching goes beyond workouts, focusing on strength, fat loss, mobility, and lasting habits. Every programme is tailored to your lifestyle and goals, with support every step of the way to deliver real, sustainable results.

As a Barnes resident of over 20 years, my journey with this gym started as a client 18 years ago. At the time, I was working as an award-winning documentary film producer and battling a debilitating back injury. After a year of failed rehab, physio, and spinal injections, I couldn't walk for 10 minutes without severe pain. It was at that point I joined The Cabin to improve my core stability.

Within two weeks of training, I was pain-free. Six months later, I ran the Edinburgh Marathon in just over 3 hours, living proof that this unique training philosophy works.

Driven by a passion to pay that transformation forward, I pivoted careers. I qualified as a Level 3 Personal Trainer and have spent the last year coaching at The Cabin.

This isn't your usual gym. The workouts are tough, but the community is rewarding, social, and genuinely fun. Having been in your shoes, I know exactly what it takes to get results. And I'm here to help you achieve yours.
